Global Game Jam adalah event terbesar untuk para game developer yang dilaksanakan secara serentak di seluruh dunia. Global Game Jam adalah event tahunan di mana peserta dapat berkumpul dan juga berbagi pengelaman dan pengetahuannya tentang game development.
Global Game Jam pada dasarnya mirip dengan hackathon di mana peserta ditantang untuk dapat berkolaborasi, membuat inovasi dan juga mengembangkan kreativitasnya. Seluruh peserta diberi waktu untuk membuat dan mengembangkan game dengan tema yang akan ditentukan pada saat pelaksanaan. Event ini dilaksanakan selama 48 jam non-stop.
Global Game Jam 2017 akan dilaksanakan secara serentak di seluruh dunia pada tanggal 20 – 22 Januari 2017.
